Eric Pulier has become one of the most well-known and established figures in enterprise technology. A rounded professional, he has taken on the role of technologist, philanthropist, columnist, author, and company founder. As an entrepreneur, his talents have been utilized by the government. The Presidential Inaugural Committee chose Eric Pulier in 1997 to create the Presidential Technology Exhibit that took place in Washington D.C. Pulier is also a member of Bill Clinton’s Global Initiative, a foundation that aims to find innovative solutions to global issues.
Pulier has founded and cofounded several successful companies, including SOA Software, US Interactive, Akana, Desktone, and MediaPlatform. He has also been named one of 30 e-visionaries by VAR Business. Pulier doesn’t just create though, he also educates. He has spoken at multiple technology conferences. He even spoke at a health and technology forum conducted by former vice president Al Gore.
Pulier is also established in the literary world as the co-author of Understanding Enterprise and as the author of The Enterprise Industrial Complex. In fact, his educational background is in English and American literature. Pulier obtained a degree from Harvard University in 1988. During his attendance, he wrote a column for the university paper The Harvard Crimson.
As a family man that is the active father of four children, Pulier has demonstrated empathy for others near and far. With Smartbright World, he led the initiative to connect chronically ill children to one another through technology. The program allows children to be able to form unions over their experiences through chatting and blog posts. Pulier is a member of the board for The Painted Turtle, a summer camp for children that are ill, as well. In addition, he is involved with several non-profits focused around building up humanity, advocates for free college tuition, and serves on the Innovation Board for the XPRIZE foundation. Pulier is truly a man of many facets and refreshingly, always keeps benefiting humanity at that forefront of his ventures.
